The right everyday carry firearm is one you can comfortably carry daily, conceal with your normal clothing, and safely operate with confidence. Factors such as hand fit, recoil control, size, and ease of use all matter more than brand or caliber alone. We encourage students to choose a firearm they can hold comfortably, shoot accurately and manage under stress. If you’re still unsure, trying different options at the range or working with your instructor can help you find the best fit for your lifestyle and experience level.
Once you have placed your initial deposit of $25, it is only transferable (1) time, and only if rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled class date. Deposits are non-refundable after that. Click here for our current Reschedule & Cancellation/Refund Policy.
We aim to cap all of our CPL courses to a maximum of (5) students. This helps to provide more focused, one-on-one guidance and training. With smaller class sizes, we can provide a more hands-on experience, and individual attention as you're learning.
That depends. In Michigan, you generally cannot obtain a concealed pistol license if you have a felony conviction or are otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm under state or federal law. Certain misdemeanor convictions can also make you ineligible for several years (often 3 or 8 years depending on the offense) before you are eligible to apply. You must also complete required training and pass a background check. Because eligibility depends on the specific conviction and timelines, it’s important to check with the county clerk or legal counsel about your particular situation. It is Michigan law to proactively inform an officer that you are carrying. Always follow the officer's instructions, keep your hands visible, and DO NOT touch the firearm unless directed by the officer. Laws and procedures can change, so it’s important to stay current with your state's laws.
According to Michigan law, here is a list of prohibited premises, on which you cannot legally carry a firearm, even with a CPL.
